The work environment has been in a state of change in recent years, with the location of work and working hours becoming increasingly flexible. The drivers for this include digitalization, technologization, changing values and demographic change. Further, people’s lifestyles are also changing, with individualization and self-realization of the individual becoming more important, which further pushes the transformation of the work environment. In addition, the current COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating the transformation. Thereby coworking spaces symbolize the new work environment and reflect the current zeitgeist. Especially coworking spaces in suburban regions are receiving more attention in recent time due to commuters and employers realizing that permanent presence in the office is not necessary anymore.
